When you look out the windows of your home, do you sometimes wonder if your eyesight is going bad? Some experience very foggy windows in their home, and in some extreme cases, they even turn almost completely opaque. It’s not a problem with your sight, it’s actually a problem with the gas that is sealed in between your double pane windows. This gas is sealed in between the panes to make sure that the window insulates against temperature and sound better. When the sun hits the window, the gas expands and then contracts as it cools down. Over time, this process will wear out the silica gel seal, and cause leaks that contaminate the gas between the panes. There is no perfect method of fixing a window that has reached this point, so you will need to choose between a complete replacement or a fix that gets your window somewhat better.
