Whenever you are cooking at home, large amounts of steam and smoke is released into the air. This means that you might end up having to deal with smoke detectors going off as well as having your ceiling and walls exposed to the smoke. That is going to be the case if you don’t have a properly functioning kitchen fan.
Some kitchen fans are installed over the stove, but in reality, they don’t accomplish anything. This could be either due to there not being a duct leading the smoke and steam away or from a duct that is constricted in such a way that the fan can’t funnel everything out well enough. The duct from your kitchen fan needs to be straight and lead directly outside. You also don’t want it to vent near a window or door where the smoke could return in.
It is very important that you have some type of blockage preventing pests from following the smells back into your kitchen.
